messages from the pandemic
This is a documentation of my and my friends' experience during the first 100 days of the pandemic. In reading this zine, you will come across moments of anxiety, fear, stress, anger, joy, love, kindness, and more. This is an attempt to honestly and openly explore our experiences.
A Collective Outlet (ongoing)
“A Collective Outlet” is a collaborative zine and Instagram page offering a place to gather, document, and share our experiences during the covid-19 pandemic. With contributions open to all, this project aims to act as a space of convergence that will create community and connection.
just the two of us / احنا الإثنين...أنا و أنت
A series of images depicting many kinds of of pairs: siblings, friends, lovers, parent and child, acquaintances, strangers, or whatever else. Two together, sharing a space, frame, or moment.
How Does it Feel? (ongoing)
A photobook incorporating photos taken in Cairo, Abu Dhabi, and Toronto, this is an exploration of informal urbanism, place-making, and urban reclamation in these cities. Many elements in cities serve clear functions, but what happens beyond that? What happens in the margins? What defines a city? What is the difference between a city that feels lived in, one that encourages attachment to place, and one that feels constructed? Shot on Kodak 400TX, Fujicolor C200, and Kodak Ultramax 400, and Kodak Gold 200.
Fall on the Islands
A visual documentation of the fall colors on the Toronto Islands. Shot on Kodak Ektachrome 100.
